Hampture Update for 1/26/2019: Flex Seal Acquired

You asked for it, I got it. It will be going on over a topical application of a credibly recommended industrial sealant however just to be doubly sure, then will come the second leak test. The road to Hampture is fraught with as many perils as life has doors, Ed boy.

  1. I remember you mentioning the dark lighting underwater, and wanting the hamsters to know the time. Would it be possible to use solar panels (taken from inexpensive solar powered garden lights) to sense daylight above the surface, and then use that to power a light on a variable resistor underwater? That way, the artificial light for the hamsters would brighten and dim with the daylight.

    1. Sure. But it will be 2-3 stories inside, so I could just leave the lighting on all the time and they could moderate how much they get by moving between the floors.

  2. The streams have officially crossed. Using a product advertised by Phil Swift and JonTron themselves, whilst simultaneously being positively advertised by the single greatest incognito Machiavellian internet entity himself, Mister Metokur. Godspeed tiny furry aquanauts, and Godspeed, o the mightiest Atlas of Hampture.

  3. So, dropped by to see how this was coming along as I was on Facebook and saw a meme about Hampture, and went... "Oh shit! I forgot, that guy was super cool and totally plugged my 8-year-failed project on his blog!"

I came here to see this video about some flex seal, and then heard the second half of the video and was taken aback hearing about your sister's passing.

That being said, I love the work you've done over the years. As of right now, I have no plans to continue Ant-ure, but my uncle has been in the process of similar project now that he has the funds and time. (I have the funds now, but I also have a small human being to raise. lol)

    1. Congrats on the kiddo. I reached out to Ants Canada on Youtube about the possibility of an underwater ant colony, no word back yet.

  4. Hello

I just wanted to reach out to you with a concern. My wife, who was a rat breeder pointed out that there is an issue with the hamster breathing in the ammonia, if it is peeing and pooing in the enclosed area, how is the hamster not breathing in ammonia from its waste?

    Something to consider, thanks.

    1. Hyperabsorbant silica gel litter, and constant airflow.

  5. Hey, can you open a Discord Server so anyone could collab with you?

I mean you could make it a "Donator Only Discord" if you'd like to keep it nice and tidy.

There's several things that I'd love for you to test out like for an example: Keeping the Water Fresh and clean by adding in Silver and a UV light(next to the water bottle and seperated from the hamster) turned on a scheduled interval(to help save power) to keep unwanted Bacteria/Algae in the water.

Obviously this is something extra which your main Patreon Donator shouldn't cover up for(this would require a separate PayPal Donation which whoever requested the additional project should pay for).

Keep up the Great Work! Loving the project so far <3
